Continuing Professional Development
As a member of the British Psychological Society and as a Registered Psychologist with the Health Professions Council you must engage in Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
All the events, conferences and workshops that you can take part in for your CPD can be accessed via the Society’s Learning Centre. This is how you can access the Division of Occupational Psychology’s annual events such as the Learning a Living programme and the Annual Conference. The Division of Occupational Psychology also organises other events.
In order to remain registered with the HPC, registrants must continue to meet the standards that the HPC has set for the profession.
The HPC defines CPD as ‘a range of learning activities through which health professionals maintain and develop throughout their career to ensure that they retain their capacity to practice safely, effectively and legally within their evolving scope of practice’.
Psychologists registered with the HPC will be required to maintain an ongoing record of the CPD that they undertake in order to renew their registration. Further information can be found on the HPC website.
