Chartership Guidance

There have been a number of candidates enrolled on the British Psychological Society’s Qualification in Occupational Psychology (QOccPsych), specifically Stage 2 of the qualification - otherwise called ‘Chartership’ - enquiring regarding the requirement to provide a Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) disclosure certificate. Most of the queries have specifically asked whether a government security clearance could be accepted instead of a CRB disclosure. The Division has developed a statement to address the latter point, but it also briefly discusses the requirement for CRB in general.

QOccPsych CRB Security Check

The statement has been agreed by the Society Qualifications Team, the QOccPsych Qualifications Board and the Health Professions Council and hopefully provides members with useful information.
